GET READY and GET EXCITED! We are going to have a fun and productive school year at the Clubhouse. The theme this year is “Community Service”.
No GIRL’S DAY- Monday 6/20 & 6/27
GIRL’S DAY is over for the School Year 2010-11. It was nice getting to know each one of you. Together, we learned bunches about technology. GIRL’S DAY will resume when school starts next fall.
The Wagon Project was fun. Help Nichole finish it.
I hope to see you this SUMMER at the Clubhouse.
Keep Smiling
Tami
Tami is gone for the next two weeks on vacation so we have to adjust a little bit.
1. Monday Girls’ Day will be cancelled. Homeschool class and robotics will still go on.
2. On Wednesday, the Clubhouse will not open until 4:30 on March 2 and March 9. I teach robotics in Tillicum until 4:15 but I’ll try to hurry back. You may have to hang outside a bit.
After Tami returns we’ll go back to our normal schedule.
The Clubhouse will be filming the Dr. Martin Luther King Celebration on Saturday, January 15th at the McGavick Center at Clover Park Technical College. We will be using two cameras a and a computer so we’ll need at least four members to do this. (2 on cameras, one on computer, one director)
We will be SETTING UP on Friday, January 14th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. The Clubhouse will be CLOSED that day.
On SATURDAY the crew needs to be there at 9:00 AM – the program starts at 10:00 and ends at noon.
If you want to volunteer - see Kurt.
Hello, My Name is Tami and I’m happy to get started as the new Assistant Coordinator at the Computer Clubhouse. I look forward to meeting everyone who participates on Mondays for Girls’ Day and Wednesdays for Coed Days.
A few things to know about me: I am very creative, I love to laugh and I find joy in the little things each day. I really like flowers, traveling, photography, nature, history, playing the flute, volunteering and watercolor painting. I live in Puyallup with my husband, Dave and I have 2 adult children, my daughter, Kori-22, who lives in Chicago and my son, Nikki-26, who is married to Alix, my daughter-in-law and lives in Orlando.
In the past, I worked with youth in grades Kindergarten through College to coordinate programs, activities and projects for a Native American Tribe in Michigan, a community museum and a National youth organization called UNITY, Inc. (United National Indian Tribal Youth).
I am so excited to get started motivating and watching young people express their unique creativity and ideas through technology.
New beginnings!
Tami
NEW YEARS SUNSET 2011 Ocean Shores, Washington
With the school break approaching (and Kurt needing to take some vacation time before he loses it) – here are the Clubhouse holiday hours and locations.
The Clubhouse will be CLOSED from Friday, December 17 to Friday December 24.
The Clubhouse will be OPEN (at Harrison Prep) Monday December 27, Tuesday December 28, and Wednesday December 29 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The Robotics Center (at Lakewood Pres.) will be open on December 30th, from 9:00 to 4:00.
The Clubhouse staff wishes everyone a happy and safe holiday.
Rain, our amazing assistant coordinator, is leaving the Clubhouse because she is adopting a two-year-old. Sounds like fun – but surely a handful that will make it hard for her to manage the Clubhouse. You can email her with advice or wish her the best.
Anyways, the Clubhouse has a position open for someone interested in running Girls’ Day, Wednesday coed days, and covering for Kurt when he is on vacation. The position description is located at http://www.pierce.ctc.edu/dist/hr/position?id=4. You must fill out the online application to be considered.
The Monday/Wednesday program at the Clubhouse at Harrison Prep. will be affected until the position is filled and the person trained. Please check the Clubhouse calendar for details and changes. Monday/Wednesdays at the Robotics Center will continue unchanged.
The Clubhouse will be CLOSED on Friday, September 17th. The Clubhouse will be at the All-City Tailgate Party filming the stage events. If you want to help out then show up and check in with Kurt. He will be at the Lakewood’s Promise booth. We will need help handing out flyers, shooting video, and taking pictures.
