Vex Robotics Team

The Lakewood Computer Clubhouse ranked 11th out of 26 robotics teams entered at Saturday’s VEX competition in Redmond. ( http://www.vexrobotics.com/vex-competitions.shtml) They made it as far as the quarter-finals. This was remarkable for a number of reasons.

1. This was our first-ever competition.
2. They were up against well-established and well-funded teams.
3. We were the only team NOT from Bellevue, Redmond or Canada.
4. We were working with very limited parts (we are new at this) and hence we were the puniest ‘bot in the competition with the least amount of moving parts.
5. Our team members were young – only one of the five was in high-school.
